Hello!
How I got the Name
When I named my business Beautifully Fierce Photography, I wanted it to be bold but soft. Unforgettable.
A name that defined who I am but also who YOU are.
A name where when you see my work, you see beauty and strength within the image and behind the image.
Not just beautifully set photos, but powerful ones. Images that feel soft and timeless, yet full of life, personality, and confidence.
There’s beauty in vulnerability, in connection, in the quiet moments.
But there’s also a fierce, powerful side to who we are.
My goal is to capture both.
The gentle and the bold, the calm and the confident. That balance is what makes you, you.
No matter the portrait type, there is always a beautiful fierceness to us all.
Be Fiercely Wild. Be Boldly You. Just Be.
Hey there!
Photography has been part of my life for over 20 years, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that this art is always evolving, just like we all are.
The trends in editing styles, the new genre of sessions that are being offered, and Social Media... Oh Social Media. It can be the claim to fame, a thief of your art, or the biggest Devil there is.
My journey hasn’t been a straight path. I have grown in so many ways, but I've had my moments where life pulled me away.
Times I stepped back, took breaks, and even stopped altogether. The past few years, especially, have had their challenges.
I mentioned Social Media above, and honestly that was a large part of my ups and downs.
The constant comparison, thinking you're not good enough to contend, and the theft of your ideas... it just all sucked to be honest.
But through it all, one thing never left me . My love for this art and career.
I couldn't drive by an open meadow, with tall grass blowing in the wind, and the sunsetting, without wanting to jump out of the car and take all the photos, or take a mental note of the place for a future session spot.
And that's how I knew, one day, I would make this my career, forever.
On a random Thursday in February 2026, (yes 20 years after I started this journey) I saw a sign on a door in a building I go to weekly, that said "For Rent, call this number." I called the number and the rest is history.
And here we are....
I am back. Fully, permanently, and with more intention than ever before. With my studio open and a renewed passion behind the camera, I’m stepping into this crazy game stronger, more inspired, and more connected to my work than I’ve ever been.
While the studio is a huge asset, especially for separating the work and home life, I'll still chasing that golden hour glow outdoors; where everything feels a little softer, a little more magical.
Over the years, I’ve realized something important:
it’s not just about the photos I capture for you.
It’s about the memories you take with you and the experience you have while creating them.
The experience shapes everything.
From helping you choose what to wear, to recommending the perfect location, guiding you through styling, hair and makeup, and even choosing the best time of day for that perfect, dreamy light, every detail is thoughtfully considered so you feel confident, comfortable, and completely yourself.
Because when you feel good, it shows.
And those moments.
The laughter, the connection, the way it all feels.
It becomes a part of your photos.
These aren’t just moments for today.
They’re memories you’ll hold onto for years to come.
And hopefully something you’ll look back on and not only see, but feel all over again.
"You've made it through 100% of your toughest days."💛
I can't wait to work with you.
~ Melissa
